| The book and movie called "Left Behind" is an important topic. There is much truth in both the book and the movie, and though they don't understand like some others, that the first five seals are not future, they still do an admirable job. Of course Matthew 25:1-13 which tells the parable of the ten virgins, is speaking about some, even as many as half, of some in the church who won't be ready to be Raptured when Jesus calls at the first phase of his 2nd coming. There are other passages as well that make it look as though only half of people who know the truth of God, but would not live it, will be left behind at the Rapture event. Matthew 24:40-42 and Luke 17:34-36 tell of two people doing various things together such as working or sleeping and one will be taken and the other left.
We see in the seven letters of Revelation chapter 2&3, that some in the church who refuse to change their sinful unrepentant ways, will also be left behind if they don't wake up and follow the way of holiness.
If we look at the state of the American church today it not only resembles the church of Laodicea, which is the lukewarm church, but also resembles many of the other bad elements in some of the other Revelatory churches as well. The American church has also become the compromising church as well as a church that appears to be alive on the outside, but is dead on the inside. There are many who have a form of religion, but deny the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit.
It would not be surprising if only 5-10% of people who call themselves Christians here in America, are actually living what they say believe. This will result in many more here in America being left behind and this will be much more than we think. However we still have the poor and persecuted church which numbers in the hundreds of millions in just India and China alone, who like the original poor churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia, are worthy of the return of Jesus, so they will all go.
So averaged out among all the churches and their different types today, approx. half will be Raptured, much fewer from America and Europe and a lot more from the poor and persecuted churches of the third world. However this does not mean the "left behind" will have no chance of being saved later on, if they endure to the end. The thing to realize is, everyone's end is different. We all have to endure to our own ends. For some their end is today. There are 500 Christians a day, dying as Martyrs somewhere in the world each and everyday now to add to the already 70 million who have gone on before them. This alone is proof that the fifth seal was broken long ago, because the seal starts Martyrdom but does not complete it.
Later on in Revelation, as many as one billion tribulation saints,(Revelation 14:20 gives us the number of people in gallons of blood spilled 180 miles X the height of a horses bridle which is 4-6 feet), who will be beheaded to gain their Salvation.(Rev. 20:4 NIV) This is good news to those who are praying for unsaved or wandering from the truth loved ones.
Some who take the book of Revelation out of the numerical and sequential order, that it was meant to be understood by, match the battle of Armageddon(Rev.19), with the blood up to the horses bridle in Re. 14:20. But these two events should not be confused or melded together. The blood letting in Rev. 14:20, matches with the beheadings of the saints, not the last battle of Armageddon/Gog &Magog of Ezekiel chapters 38&39. |
