|All people all basically good correct? I mean c'mon we are all gonna make it to heaven right? Aren't there many paths to God? We all serve the same God don't we? Allah, Buddha, Jesus, Mother Earth, Trees, what's the difference? Well the bible says something totally different, but of course we have to read it to find out what it really says and we don't want to do that. The truth is, we all start out with our default destination being hell because of sin. Jer.17:9 reads:
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked who can know it? Answer: No one can know it but God.
It's amazing how non discriminating we are about throwing the 'good' phrase around isn't it? This person is good we say, that person is good people, when the fact is Jesus himself said why do you call me good, right after someone called him good teacher. Only God is good he said. Wow that's heavy stuff Jesus, but again he showed us how humble is was as well. He always gave the glory to his father God.
So only God is good and he is says we all are wicked and selfish and he's right. We are all out for ourselves and the only thing that could ever have changed that was Jesus death and resurrection. He and he alone is the truth the life and the way none other. So there is only one way to heaven and it's through Jesus and Jesus alone.
Many today think all they have to do is do a few good deeds for friends and or family and that should be enough to get them to heaven. We haven't murdered anyone so we say and we aren't as bad as so and so and we excuse away our sin. But Jesus said if a man lusts after a woman in his mind it's the same thing as doing it and if you hate someone in your mind, or even thought about killing them in your mind but have not done it Jesus said you did.
This all the more points to the need of a savior for the forgiveness of sin, because we can't save ourselves and we can't ever get good enough on our own. See it doesn't matter what we think about sin, it only matters what God thinks. It's his way or the highway and unfortunately the highway is the one that leads to hell.
All that will matter when it comes to the day we will all face God and make no mistake about it, we all will face God someday whether it's for the good news or the bad, is what you have done with Jesus. If you knew him really knew him and lived for him, you will gain heaven. Anything less won't be acceptable because though he is a God of love, he also is a God of Justice and Holiness.
Because he has never sinned he can't abide with it. He did give us a way out though and it's the only way out there is. To reject his great sacrifice of sending his son to die for our sins is to gain hell and hell won't be a party as some believe. It will be a place of constant suffering, no light and only the screams of countless millions will be heard for eternity. Whether you choose to believe it or not is of no consequence all that matters is it's true.
I could say I don't believe in the wind because I can't see it, but yet we see it's effects so we know it's there, same thing with air or gravity. God is much the same. Though we can't see him directly and currently, his effects in all of creation is felt and can be seen everywhere. His handiwork is also seen everywhere and in everything. There is nothing that happens or can happen unless he allows it to happen, so he controls all things and allows sin and sinners to go on sinning, but only for a short time longer, their time and time as we know it now, will soon come to an end, the question you have to ask yourself is where will you be when he calls your number?
Will you be ready to meet him because you loved him and lived for him, or will you be ashamed at his coming because you thought you could do it on your own. Do you love your life and the things of this world so much that God is put on the back burner? If so you need to switch your priorities and line them up with what he wants for you.
