| There has been much speculation over the years starting when Christ was born up to the start of his public ministry. Since Jesus was killed in AD33 and he started his public ministry in AD30 that's only three short years, but he sure packed a lifetime of miracles and living into those three years. In fact I think it was Paul the apostle who said if all the things Jesus had done and said had been recorded no amount of volumes could have held it. Now that's amazing by itself, because it proves Jesus was no slouch like many of us are, but this topic is going to go in a direction you might not expect. We are talking about the missing years, the years not known about. All we know that has been written is Jesus went to the temple a lot and when he was twelve years old is when he was seen there a lot, but what of ages 12-30? Well Jesus was a carpenter. Imagine just for a moment what kind of carpenter he was. I think it would be fitting to think Jesus was not only what we know he was by the written word, but also he had to be an exceptional carpenter. In fact not only was he probably exceptional, he had to be the greatest carpenter of ALL TIME even up to the present day. So what was Jesus doing for 18 years? How about filling orders. Ha Ha! Sounds funny but I challenge someone else to take a guess and come any closer than that. We also know this, Jesus said he was going to prepare a place for us so that where he is we may be also, can you imagine the scroll work on some of his woodwork? It has to be nothing short of 'heavenly' and quite exquisite. What would you pay for cabinets, chairs, tables or you name your woodwork made by the creator of the universe? |
